System Requirements

  • macOS 12 (Monterey) or later — Ventura, Sonoma, Sequoia supported
  • Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) or Intel — Universal binary
  • Administrator privileges — Required for lid-close prevention feature
  • 2.5 MB disk space — Lightweight and efficient

Important: Allow App to Run

Since WakeUpMac is distributed outside the Mac App Store, macOS will block it by default. After installing, open Terminal and run this command:

sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/WakeUpMac.app

This removes the macOS quarantine flag. You'll be prompted for your Mac password. Only needed once.

Security & Privacy

WakeUpMac does not collect personal data or track usage. The only network requests are for account authentication and license verification. The app runs entirely on your Mac.

Troubleshooting

"WakeUpMac is damaged and can't be opened"

This is macOS blocking unnotarized apps. Open Terminal and run:

sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/WakeUpMac.app

Lid-close prevention not working?

The app will prompt for administrator password when enabling lid-close prevention. This is required to modify system power settings via pmset.
